Update 0.8.1
Boeckham's Football Manager » Devlog
Hi everyone,
Here comes the next update of Boeckham's Football Manager. The nicest part of it is that almost all facilities are now beautiful thanks to @miguello1980's pixel art (you can find him on fiverr if you need nice visuals!). For now, there is only one version for each facility, no matter the level but it is a good start.
More changes include the following:
- difficulty settings now have a greater effect on several parts of the game:
- what you need to roll on skill dice
- how much money you earn
- how much money you get from sponsors
- how your and your club's reputation increase or decrease
- how long the build time is
- how many spectators will come to your matches
- how likely you will win or lose a match
- very roughly speaking: the easy mode makes everything twice as nice and the hard mode makes it twice as hard. For example, you gain 2 times more reputation on a win and lose half of the normal reputation on a loss in easy mode, in hard mode you would lose 2 times and gain only half. An Exception to that formula is the likelihood of winning/losing a game, here the chances are only 20% higher in easy mode and 20% worse in hard mode. Let me know, if there is anything that does not feel well balanced that way.
- bugfix: you can now get a coaching contract even in hard mode with no reputation, but only for the smallest clubs (reputation < 35)
- a new narrative for not having a coaching license or if it is not good enough. Don't worry, you won't get kicked out of the premier league but your club has to pay a fine on a daily basis until you start your education ;)
- a new narrative for players getting called into the national team. They can improve there and get more valuable but they can also get injured
- a new narrative where other clubs buy interesting youth players. Time to snatch them away :D
- a new narrative where the board wants to extend the coach's contract
- more workshops to attend in order to gain more skills
- new table for banner sponsors you contracted. The table is sortable, as well as the table with all available sponsors so you can see the best offers and when contracts are expiring better (you can still hover over the stadium image to see the info for the sponsors
- you can now see how strong and how valuable a player was when you bought them and how much you spent on them. This makes buying and selling players for profit a bit nicer
- in the statistics panel, the matches of the current week are now colored in a green shade
- bug fixes in several narratives (please let me know if some narratives appear too often)
- removed the draggable UI elements because they would only cause a mess
- better functionality for taking a sabbatical (meaning: you are without a club)
- more nicknames for top-tier players
- reduced interest rate on excess money
- more accurate replies from other coaches on match day
- CL and cup matches are now also saved to use the results later on (e.g. what the last result of two teams was)
- show roster value and age distribution in the statistics panel
Let me know if anything is broken, savegames should still be working.
Have fun!
